EDINBURG, TX – South Texas Literacy Coalition (STLC) has been named the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce February Business of the Month.
First set in 2007, the STLC impacts the lives of families through the power of literacy.
At the time, STLC was created during the Hispanic Engineering Science Technology Conference (HESTEC). This cause continues to address the literacy rate crisis facing South Texas.
At this time, “we will highlight STLC for their dedication to grow our community literacy enhancing activities. Their volunteerism is inspiring as they dedicate their time and energy to organize free book distribution in our community, ” said Ronnie Larralde, Executive Director at the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, STLC continues outreach programming through community partnerships. Along with these partnerships, the organization creates and implements programs and events to address key literacy issues facing our community.
In light of STLC initiatives, the Edinburg Chamber will spotlight the organization throughout the month on various media platforms. For more information please call the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce at 956-383-4974 or visit www.edinburg.com.
