EDINBURG, TX – Edinburg – McAllen Veterinary Clinic, located on 3620 W. Freddy Gonzalez Dr, is the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce July 2021 Business of the Month.
The chamber invites its community to celebrate the clinic’s 35 years anniversary during a mixer. The mixer set for Jul 22, 2021 at Edinburg Chamber, 602 W. University Dr. at 5 P.M.
Edinburg – McAllen Veterinary Services provides quality care for cats, dogs, cattle, horses, and more. The veterinary clinic is a family owned and operated by Dr. Lucas G. Hinojosa and Dr. Daniel Hinojosa.
Undeniably, “Agriculture is a thriving industry in Edinburg. Edinburg-McAllen Veterinary Services not only assists our community’s pets but livestock as well. Throughout their 35 years in business they have provided quality care for this industry.” said Ronnie Larralde, Executive Director of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce.
Native to Edinburg, Dr. Lucas Hinojosa is a 1980 Edinburg High School graduate. He attended Pan-American University for 2 years.
Later transferring to Texas A&M University to fulfill his undergraduate prerequisites for veterinary school. Following his graduation from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 with his DVM.
Following his move back to Edinburg Dr. Lucas started his career in a mixed animal practice. Soon after his graduation, Dr. Lucas became a partner of Edinburg-McAllen Veterinary Services, P.C.
Dr. Lucas and his wife, Norma, have raised 3 children on a ranch north of Edinburg. Currently, they have been active in a Simbrah cattle operation. As a result this has yielded numerous championships throughout the state of Texas.
Dr. Lucas has been active on 4-H Foundation boards. Serving at the local and state levels throughout his career. Dr. Hinojosa is in the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Board since 2005. Later being selected as the official show veterinarian in 2010.
Most recently Dr. Hinojosa’s son, Daniel, has joined the practice as well. Dr. Daniel Hinojosa is an Edinburg native and a 2006 graduated from Edinburg North High School.
Currently serving on the board of the Hidalgo County 4H Foundation. In his early career he worked at the clinic as a technician during the summers. Ultimately, earning a Bachelorette Degree in Animal Science with a Science Option from Texas A&M in 2009 before getting accepted to the Texas College Of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Daniel is a proud graduate from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Soon, Daniel moved back to Edinburg with his wife, Enrika Olivarez Hinojosa, and became the third veterinarian at Edinburg-McAllen Veterinary Services, P.C..
Dr. Hinojosa also enjoys helping the family with their registered Simbrah cattle operation. His special veterinary interests include small animal cardiology, orthopedics, and bovine medicine and reproduction.
