Edinburg Chamber Representatives Rally Up For Membership Drive

The local chamber aims to increase membership by 20%

EDINBURG, TX – The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a membership drive on July, 19, 2021 from 1 P.M. – 5P.M. The chamber encourages business owners and professionals to grow their businesses through chamber membership.

The Edinburg Chamber invites prospective members to stop by the Chamber Depot, 602 W. University Dr, for an opportunity to meet chamber staff, ambassadors, and volunteers. Those who become chamber members or renew their membership that day will be entered into a drawing for many door prizes.

Throughout the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the Edinburg Chamber halted its focus on membership sales, “Membership sales are the lifeline of any chamber of commerce.” said Ronnie Larralde, Executive Director at Edinburg Chamber. “When the COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak we changed our priorities to provide resources for our business community.”

Because of these initiatives the chamber has seen an increased interest in membership. “Our business community has seen the efforts we displayed during the pandemic,” said Larralde. Now that business has reopened throughout the state the Edinburg Chamber is seeking to inform business owners about the value of a chamber membership.

For 96 years the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce has led the effort in advancing commerce and the quality of life in Edinburg and the region. The Chamber fosters service, development, and growth by forging positive relationships, advocating volunteerism, and leadership development.

Leading the membership drive is chamber staff, board members, and ambassadors. All representatives will personally contact businesses via phone call. Businesses will learn about the value of chamber membership.

The Edinburg Chamber currently has a  membership of about 424, the organization has a goal to increase its membership by 20% by the end of the membership drive.

In addition to the networking opportunities, there are countless benefits to being a Chamber member. Including visibility and exposure for a business. Members get a listing in the Chamber’s online directory as well as a great number of marketing opportunities.
