Edinburg – The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce recently named Delia’s Tamales as it’s March Featured Business of the Month recipient. The selected business, organization, or individual is recognized for their outstanding service, commitment and contribution to the community by the Chamber Ambassador Committee. Award winners are honored with a presentation of a certificate by a Chamber Ambassador and are given a Business of the Month sign to display in front of their business for the month selected.
Delia’s was started almost 30 years ago from very humble beginnings. Needing to provide for her family, Delia started making tamales with one of her sisters. They started with five pounds of masa and used all of their proceeds to continue making tamales. Each morning, they set out with their freshly-cooked tamales in coolers, going door-to-door and business-to-business selling them to the delight of customers. After some time, Delia built a solid client base and realized that she was outgrowing her kitchen. She’d successfully turned the tamale as a holiday staple into a year-round treat. Delia’s currently has over two hundred employees and operates six locations in Hidalgo County.
We would like to thank Delia’s Tamales for their continued support to our community and the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce. For more information please call the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce at 956-383-4974 or visit www.edinburg.com.
